"Death is a Wise Advisor" Limited Edition Reproduction

$65.00

This piece invokes the energetics of Fall, with dying grass, rosehips, and the lonely crow against a gray sky. Autumn is a time of death, as the harvest season comes to a close, leaves fall, and the daylight wanes. In the wheel of the year, death is part of the natural cycle of things and not something to fear. It’s a time of letting go of the things that no longer serve us and setting boundaries so that we can focus on what we really want.

The title is inspired by Journey to Ixtlan:

Death is our eternal companion. It is always to our left, an arm's length behind us. Death is the only wise adviser that a warrior has. Whenever he feels that everything is going wrong and he's about to be annihilated, he can turn to his death and ask if that is so. His death will tell him that he is wrong, that nothing really matters outside its touch. His death will tell him, I haven't touched you yet.”

-Journey to Ixtlan
